Progress:

Cleared out the eye holes and roughed out some grooves for the lenses to sit in.
Lenses sitting on top, to get a feel for the magnification.

The chavant is too soft for the precise look I am going for. Keeps squishing out of proportion. So the plan is to mold it in silicone leftovers from MEL and then buy some flexible urethane to cast it in.  Then we sand the urethane smooth, and paint it. Last, we widen the lens  groove and grind the lenses to fit it.

I'll worry about the band later.

Steampunk Goggles

Started on a new project which required a lifecast of my face.
Oh look, I just happen to have made one of those.

Next, globbed it up with some Chavant clay and start sculpting.

A few hours and an untold number of The Simpsons episodes later...

Making good progress. Planning to cast it in flexible urethane, paint it and put coke-bottle lenses in.
